This product contains rolled oats, steam rolled corn and a specially formulated pellet containing Fermenten. Liquid molasses is sprayed on the final mix to create the moist texturized sweet feed so popular with calf feeders.

This product is designed to be fed to calves from one week of age to eight weeks of age. It contains 18% crude protein but benefits from the key peptides and amino acids provided by Fermenten.

This product contains lasalocid at 57g/T to assist in coccidiosis control and promote growth.

Calves fed this product should have improved rumen papillae development due to the combination of starches and sugars. The Fermenten will also enhance the development of rumen microorganisms and allow the calf to begin absorbing quality rumen generated protein.

Calves should be fed a quality milk replacer at recommended levels in conjunction with Calf-Vantage Starter and water should be provided free choice. The calf's requirement for water to achieve maximum growth is 2-2.4 gallons per day.

Initially small amounts of the starter should be fed twice a day to assure that feed stays fresh. Amounts should be steadily increased as calves intake improves.

No hay needs to be fed until approximately six weeks of age. The whole oats and corn create sufficient scratch factor until that time.

To maximize growth it is advisable to not change dry feed, wean calves, and move calves all at once. Maintaining calves on starter one week after weaning and gradually switching feed will prevent periods of reduced growth and minimize drops in intakes. This is also beneficial to calves overall health.
