Calf-Vantage Base Mix with 400G Rumensin
The 30% protein developer concentrate with Fermenten contains the vitamins, minerals and supplemental protein needed for the heifer beginning at about 500 pounds. The heifer needs to be fed this product 2 lbs per day and it should be combined with free choice hay or hay and corn silage. The level of corn to be fed to the heifer is dependent on the type and quality of forage. In an all hay forage program, you would typically feed 3-5 pounds of corn. Amounts can be varied depending on environmental conditions and climate. If corn silage or other low-protein forages represent over 50% of the forage dry matter, you should feed some additional soybean meal. The concentrate, corn, and any additional protein can be blended as a grain mix.
This product also contains 200g/T of lasalocid for coccidiosis control and growth promotion.
This product may be fed from 500 lbs until just prior to freshening.
Clean good quality water is essential for maximal growth of replacement heifers.
Heifers should be bred when they reach adequate size. Due to the accelerate growth, it is not unusual to have these heifers ready to breed at 11 months of age. Therefore, they will calve at a normal mature size, but at a younger age, which saves you money and space.
Now you have the real Calf-Vantage earlier calving and more profitable replacement rearing programs.
Remember to vaccinate your heifers 30 days prior to breeding. IN almost all areas, it is advisable to vaccinate for leptospirosis, BVC, and IBR. Modified live vaccines from companies that provide efficacy data are our personal choice, but consult with your veterinarian for specific recommendations. Clostridial vaccines and respiratory vaccines may also be needed in certain management situations. Follow label directions on all products.
Don't forget continued parasite control, including lice and flies.
Calf-Vantage Base Mix with 400G Rumensin
This product is a meal and designed to be fed to non-lactating animals weighing at least 750 lbs.
This product contains monensin at 400 grams per tone and it must be mixed thoroughly and completely to avoid monensin toxicity. When mixed with other feed components having different particle size, you must guard against particle separation and poor monensin distribution. Animals not previously exposed to ionosphores should be introduced to this product gradually.
This product also contains all the vitamins and minerals required for the target weight animals.
The only protein source for this base mix is Fermenten. Therefore additional protein sources must be fed to provide additional peptides, amino acids, and nitrogen sources.
Starch and other digestible carbohydrates are required by rumen microorganisms. Therefore it is essential that a starch source is provided. Most ration programs will allow you to balance protein and energy for similar rates of gain. If proper levels of fermentable starch and fiber are present, Fermenten will improve rumen microbial efficiency by 20 percent and give you the desired frame development. Body condition score will be dependent on actual total energy intake. Remember energy comes from fat and all forms of carbohydrate. Proper rumen fiber is also required to prevent acidosis and maintain proper rates of feed passage.
It is suggested that a specific ration be formulated based on accurate forage analysis.
Calf-Vantage raise them to milk them, not to eat them.
